		<description>Hi Barry,

Thanks for the note. The batteries that I used in the K1 worked great, but they are *not* rechargeable. I think some folks use rechargeable Li-ion batteries, but those cells are higher voltage. I definitely like my K1. My buddy N0TU (Goathiker on Youtube) packs an -817, and I've admired it many times, but the current draw is quite a bit higher. Of course, N0TU just lets the goats carry the batteries! ;-)

<description>I had an FT 817 and loved the idea of the internal battery pack. It was just idea of something so small and compact to carry around. Sold it and got the IC 703 plus. Love that little rig. Bigger than the 817 but offers more for my QRP CW needs. I've been looking at the 4 band K1 and didn't realize you could put a batter pack inside. I also like your choice of batteries. Also didn't realize those batteries are rechargable? Nice touch. For now I don't have time to put a kit together. Just too much to do and that in itself takes me away from the hobby. Hope to retire in 2 years and that will finally free me up.
I have two videos on you tube that may interest you. Just do a search on, "KU3X" and they will pop up.
Thanks for sharing your K1 with everybody. It stired my interest even more.
